Port Blair, Feb 24: The Model Career Centre (Employment Exchange), Directorate of Employment & Training organised a ‘Rozgar evam Swarozgar Mela’ in the Hall of GSSS Wimberlygunj on Feb 21, 2023. Addressing the gathering during this Mela, the Secretary (Labour, Employment and Training) Shri B S Jaglan, IAS, elucidated that the main objective of the ‘Rozgar evam Swarozgar Mela’ to provide a platform between the private employers and jobseekers and also to disseminate information over various self-employment schemes being implementing by various departments for the benefit of unemployed youth. He instructed the officials of Deptt of Employment to keep a record of participants who are willing to take up self-employment schemes and to provide skill oriented training to the youths in association with the PRI members.

Car Nicobar, Feb 24: A series of beach clean-up drives were taken up on the beaches of Big Lapathy, Tamaloo, Malacca Jetty, Sawaii, and Kimos Bay in Car Nicobar from 31st Jan to 20th Feb 2023 at regular intervals. The focus of the cleanliness drive is to spread awareness among the traditional people of Car Nicobar about the ill effects of plastic waste accumulated in the coastal areas.

Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee of CPI (M) condole the demise of Smt Vidya Devi, wife of late Inder Nath, resident of RGT Road on 23.02.2023 at a  hospital  at Chennai. She was 83 years old. Her body will be brought to Port Blair on 25th February 2023 and the funeral procession will begin from her residence at RGT Road at 12 noon on the same day.  CPI (M) conveyed its deepest condolences to the members of late Vidya Devi.
