Kamorta, Sept. 8: As many as six corona positive cases have been confirmed in the tribal belt of Central Nicobars. According to sources, the Assistant Commissioner and his spouse, Chief of Tribal Council, a staff of Assistant Commissioner’s office and a villager from Chota Enaka village have tested positive. Earlier one case of COVID-19 was shifted to Port Blair for treatment, making it a total of six confirmed cases.

Member of Parliament Takes Up Genuine Problems Faced by Students with Appropriate Authorities

Port Blair, Sept 8: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma had met Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education), A&N Administration Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS on 07.09.2020 and appraised him about the problems of college students of JNRM and ANCOL residing at different Islands of North & Middle Andaman, Swaraj Dweep, Saheed Dweep, Little Andaman, Nicobar district etc. for attending their Under Graduation and Post Graduations final year examinations scheduled to be held from 14th September, 2020 onwards at Port Blair.

Port Blair, Sept. 8: The Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha, Andaman & Nicobar Island and West Bengal jointly organized an Awareness program through virtual Meet. The program was led by State President Mahila Morcha, Andaman & Nicobar Island, Smti Sampa Banerjee and Smti Agnimitra Paul, State President Mahila Morcha West Bengal in presence of  Shri Ajoy Bairagi, State President BJP, Shri Dilip Ghosh, State President BJP West Bengal and the Member of Parliament, Smti Victoria Gouri National General Secretary, BJ Mahila Morcha and Prabhari Andaman & Nicobar Island, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray Ex-Member of Parliament, Shri Vishal Jolly, Ex- State President  BJP A&N Island, all State office bearers, all State and District Mahila Morcha committee members.

Port Blair, Sept. 8: At a simple function held at the conference hall of the PBMC headquarters, the Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council facilitated the winners of the 1st ASIAN ITO VIRTUL CHAMPIONSHIIP TANG SOO DO held at Iran (through virtual video). As many as 12 countries participated in the event. Altogether 54 students participated in the event representing India out of which 10 students were from the Islands and the Indian team won the Championship. 

Port Blair, Sept. 8: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands met Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education), A&N Administration Dr.V.Candavelou, on 07.09.2020 and appraised him about severe financial crises being faced by the 744 different Part time employees of Education Department i.e. Pre-Primary Teachers, Craft Instructors, Attendants and Ayas due to non-issuance of their further engagement orders for the current academic session 2020-2021 which got expired on 16th May, 2020.
