Port Blair, Aug 11: The Government of India has initiated ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to inculcate a personal connect between the citizens of India and the National Flag marking the 75th year of Indian Independence and to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people as well as to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.

Port Blair, Aug 11: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre, Port Blair has sent a SMS to the learners of January, 2022 session (Fresh & RR) to collect their study materials from the Regional Centre during its working hours. Learners who have received the SMS and till date has not collected their study materials are advised to collect the same immediately.

Port Blair, Aug 11: Traffic arrangements have been made for the rehearsals of the Independence Day celebrations on 13th August 2022 (Saturday) (Full Dress Rehearsal) and for the main function on 15th August 2022 (Monday). Accordingly:

1)            The carcade of Hon’ble Lt. Governor and other dignitaries, holders of parking card ‘P’ shall be parked inside the Netaji Stadium and near the Andaman Club.

2)            The holders of car parking label ‘P’, may use any route of their choice to approach the place of function, but are requested to reach the place of function latest by 0830 hrs., failing which, their vehicles will be stopped near the Gymkhana Crossing, RK Mission and Fire Brigade (HQ) crossings.

Port Blair, Aug. 11: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,94,516 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23923 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 27, 707 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 166340.
