New Delhi, June 27: The All India Federation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers (CITU) has demanded increase in the remuneration of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers working in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. In a letter sent to the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration with a copy to the Secretary to the Department of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India, AR Sindhu, General Secretary of the Federation demanded to increase the remuneration of Anganwadi Workers to Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 for Helpers. AR Sindhu brought to the notice of the Chief Secretary that in the Union Territory of Pondicherry, the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers have been absorbed as Special Category Government Employees and are paid a salary at par with the 6th Pay Commission Grade III and Grade IV government employees. She further said that in Tamil Nadu, they are paid special pay scale with DA and other facilities.

Port Blair, June 27: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder has demanded the Administration concerning the issues of the deteriorating condition of rural roads in the villages of Car Nicobar Islands.
In a letter to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Halder said that over the years, the rural roads in the areas are in dire need of repair and maintenance as the residents have suffered from neglect, natural wear and tear and the impact of adverse weather conditions.

Port Blair, June 27: A two days training programme on Output Outcome Monitoring Framework (OOMF) for officials of Planning/ Statistics and Accounts Department got underway at the auditorium of TGCE here today. Organized by the Planning Department in association with Development Monitoring & Evaluation Office (DMEO), NITI Aayog, New Delhi, the training was inaugurated by the Secretary (Finance), Shri C. Arvind by lighting the traditional lamp as the chief guest in the presence of the Secretary (Planning), Shri Arjun Sharma.

Diglipur, June 27: A complaint of theft of 02 cows was registered on 26/06/2023 at PS Rangat. A special team of comprising SI Pankaj Kumar Pandey SHO PS Rangat, SI Silpi Singha, SI Deva Raju, HC Rakesh Kumar, PCs Nisith Das, Sonu Yadav, Santosh Kumar Tiwari & Ct. Subol Bepari of PS Rangat swung into action, conducted extensive search in entire Rangat area. Upon a tip and the team’s tireless effort paid off when 11 Nos. cattle (08 Cows, 02 Bulls & 01 Calf) found in an unhygienic condition without fodder and shelter near Goal Pahar, Rangat.

Port Blair, June 27: In continuation of the earlier vacancy notice published by the Transport Department in the online portal www.erecruitment.andaman.gov.in on 03/05/2023 inviting applications from the eligible candidates to fill up the vacant Group B (NG) posts of Transport, Police & Shipping Departments, the candidates appearing for the recruitment examination through Computer Based Test at DBRAIT on June 30 have been advised to report at the Examination Centre 2 hours before the commencement of examination.
