Ograbraj, Aug 31: Police Station Ograbraj, under the South Andaman District, has taken a commendable initiative aimed at fostering community safety and awareness. The station spearheaded an extensive programme to educate residents on new criminal laws, the ill effects of drug abuse, cybercrime, the POCSO Act 2012, and traffic violations, with experts from each respective unit leading the sessions.

Port Blair, Sept. 1: The General Body Meeting of Fisheries Sub-Committee of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was held on 31-08-2024 at Crusade House, which discussed various issues pertaining to the employees working in the Department of Fisheries.

The issues include (i) Amendment in Recruitment Rules of various categories (ii) Pay upgradation in various posts like Fisheries Field Assistant, Sub-Inspector Fisheries, etc. (iii) Restructuring of posts for better promotional chances.

Port Blair, Aug. 31: In pursuance to the directions of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, A&N Administration under the guidance of Secretary (RD/Panchayat) and as part of the ongoing Kachra Mukth Panchayat Abhiyan, a cleanliness drive was conducted across the 70 Gram Panchayats in the Islands.

Mayabunder, Sept. 1: In a proactive effort to enhance community safety and security, the Police Stations of N&MA District organized a public meeting cum interaction with local fishermen and villagers. The event aimed to raise awareness about the potential threats posed by illegal activities conducted by various foreign elements and poachers in the region.

During the meeting, the police officials sensitized the attendees about the dangers of poaching, and other unlawful activities carried out by foreign elements in the territorial waters. The police emphasized the importance of community vigilance in preventing such activities and protecting local livelihoods.

Billiground, Aug. 31: In a significant effort to address public grievances and expedite the resolution of land-related issues, under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Revenue Camp Court was conducted today at the Patwari Office in Harinagar Village, Billiground. The camp court was presided over by the Tehsildar, Mayabunder.
