Port Blair, June 13: The four day long 2nd Andaman Tourism Road Show being organized by Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), in association with Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India got underway with its inauguration by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, at Hotel Mansha Regency here this evening. The inaugural program was also attended among others by the Director, Tourism, A&N Administration, Shri Azharuddin Zahiruddin Quazi, IAS, Assistant Director, India Tourism, Port Blair, Shri S. Ramakrishnan, Chapter Chairman, IATO, A&N Islands, Shri Mohd. Jadwet, President, ANCCI, Shri Surendra Prahladka and local entrepreneurs.

Port Blair, June 13: The Chairman, Congress Campaign Committee, A&N Islands, Mr. TSG Bhasker has apprised the Chief Secretary of the present condition of M.V Swaraj Dweep and its poor maintenance.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary on Thursday, Bhasker emphasized that Shipping is the Lifeline for the Islanders especially during the peak season when the ship travel between Island-Mainland sectors remain in high demand but to travel in ship has now become a nightmare for our Islanders due to the lack of basic facilities inside the ship.

Advise Women to Screen Themselves Regularly

Port Blair, June 13: With the recruitment of trained competent surgeons in ANIIMS, a 61-year-old female, who presented with a mass with ulceration of overlying skin in left breast from over one year. On local examination, the treating surgeons diagnosed it to be breast cancer. The patient was admitted in GB Pant Hospital under Department of General Surgery, where investigations like Ultrasonography, CT Chest and biopsy were done to arrive at a final diagnosis.
