Port Blair, June 9: Heavy rain (7-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman Islands on June 10 & 11. Due to squally weather, strong surface wind with wind speed 40 to 50 kmph is very likely along and off A&N coasts. Sea conditions are likely to be rough to very rough. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea from June 10 till the morning of June 12, 2024.

Dismissed CISF Employee with Fake Identity Nabbed
Port Blair, June 7: Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to combating drug-related activities, the Anti-Narcotics Police Station executed a highly successful Anti-Narcotics operation on June 06, 2024.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a dedicated Police Team from the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, led by Inspector S. Kannan, SHO Anti-Narcotics Police Station carried out this operation which included HC Abdul Salam, HC Kumar Bandana, PC Ratan Das, PC M. Raja Rao, and LPC R. Kavita, along with the Dog Squad team, including PC Ashim Ray, Dog Handler, and Sniffer Dog ‘ORAN’. The operation was conducted under the overall leadership of Shri Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, Dy.SP, Narcotics.

Port Blair, June 7: Kashthuri's game on day 6 of the ongoing World Girls' Chess Championship ended in a draw today. In the sixth round, she faced a tough opponent, International Women Master (WIM) Balabayeva Xeniya, from Kazakhstan with an international rating of 2246. Kashthuri, who has an international rating of over 1700, played tactfully against her Kazakhstan opponent and managed to draw the game with the black pieces and scored half a point against WIM. This is already her second draw against WIM in this tournament. Earlier she drew against WIM from Armenia in the fifth round.

Port Blair, June 7: M/s Probe Social Development & Research Pvt. Ltd., Delhi has submitted the Draft Social Impact Assessment (SIA) Report on 23.05.2024 for the Green Field International Airport project in Great Nicobar, covering an area of 404.8194 hectares.
The draft SIA report is available in the Directorate of Social Welfare, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Office of Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay & Office of Pradhan, Sastri Nagar and Gandhi Nagar, Campbell Bay for review by the public.

Port Blair, June 7: A truck bearing Registration No. AN 01 P 1476 and two nos. of excavators one of make, TATA were seized by the revenue officials which were indulged in illegal earth cutting and transportation in violation of A & N Islands Minor Mineral Rules, 2012. Around 100 Cbm (approx.) of earth from land classified as Hilly situated at Sippighat Village recorded in favour of Kunal Kumar Paul, S/o Amarnath Paul and 25 Others was extracted and have been transported and dumped upon another land situated at Sippighat Village recorded in favour of Gulab Devi, W/o Puran Lall.
