Port Blair, May 30: The Consumer Cooperative Stores Ltd (CCS) has added 02 brand new LPG Cargo Trucks to its fleet of vehicles for Door to Door delivery of LPG cylinders in the Port Blair sub-urbans. The Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma today flagged-off the vehicles at 4.30Pm and dedicate the same for public welfare. Each of the vehicle has 324 LPG cylinder capacity and shall prove mettle in improving the LPG delivery services across the Port Blair region.

Port Blair, May 30: Every year the 5th of June is celebrated as World Environment Day. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Only one Earth”.  World Environment Day has always been a day of special importance to India.  The day is celebrated as dedication of national efforts for sustainable development and mainstreaming environmental concern in the national developmental agenda. As a part of celebration of the World Environment Day, 2022 the Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair is organizing an online painting competition (Posters/Paintings/Drawing).

Port Blair, May 30: The Foundation Day of CITU was observed today throughout the country by organizing various programmes. It was on 30th May 1970 that the CITU was formed in Kolkatta.  In Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the Day was observed by organizing a meeting at the Auditorium of Hotel ACC, Mohanpura, Port Blair. A large number of workers from various parts of Port Blair town and South Andaman areas attended the programme.

Port Blair, May 30: The Commissioner of Food Safety (CFS)/Dy. Commissioner, South Andaman (DC,SA) Shri. Suneel Anchipakka, IAS today inaugurated a five-day refresher training programme to be held from 30th May 2022 to 3rd June2022 at the Conference Hall of Department of Industries, Port Blair. The refresher training was organized by Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), New Delhi in co-ordination with Department of Food Safety, A&N Administration. The Commissioner of Food Safety, A&N Islands was the Chief Guest of the inaugural function and the function was graced by the Joint Commissioner (FS)/ADM and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman.

Port Blair, May 30: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 269 incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. 16 flights with 2506 passengers arrived in A&N Islands today, out of which, 2181 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 247 passengers and the reports are awaited.
