Port Blair, May 30: The Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote holistic well-being and spiritual growth among the local communities, is organizing a six-day Personality Development Camp for children of class 6 and onwards from June 7 to June 12, 2024, at its mission premises. The camp will be held from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Port Blair, May 30: The general public and consumers have been informed that, due to the urgent breakdown maintenance of the breakers of the Reactor installed at Bambooflat Sub-Station and the upkeep of Panther-I and Panther-II tie lines, the power supply will remain suspended on June 1 between 7 am and 2 pm in the Port Blair and South Andaman areas. This outage is necessary to facilitate the repair of the breakers of Reactor and Panther-I and Panther-II tie lines.

Port Blair, May 30: Due to administrative reason, the scheduled sailing programme of the vessel MV Swaraj Dweep to Chennai on June 5, 2024 at 0900 hrs from Port Blair has been postponed. Now, the vessel will sail for Chennai on June 6, 2024 at 0900 hrs from Haddo Wharf. Embarkation of passengers will commence at 0700 hours and boarding will be closed 45 minutes before departure time of the vessel.

Port Blair, May 29: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has proposed introduction of Insurance Policy for visiting Tourists to minimize losses suffered by tourism stakeholders and tourists for cancellation of flights or ferries.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, the Member of Parliament mentioned that recent incidents of cancellation of several flights between Port Blair and Kolkata as well as Chennai Sectors have highlighted the pressing need for a robust mechanism to protect both tourists and local tourism stakeholders from the significant losses and inconveniences caused by such events.
