Port Blair, March 1: In view of the significant decline in the COVID-19 cases across the country, MoHFW has issued an advisory to all the States/Union Territories (UTs) stressing the need to follow a risk assessment-based approach on the opening of economic activities. Accordingly, in exercise of the powers conferred under section 10(2)(1) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Union Home Secretary and Chairman, National Executive Committee (NEC) has directed the States/UT Government and State/UT Authorities to implement a risk assessment-based approach on the opening of economic activities.

Port Blair, March 1: It is notified for information of the electors of Port Blair Municipal Council and Gram Panchayats of Andaman and Nicobar Islands as well as the officials/officers on Election Duty inside the polling stations on the day of poll on March 6, that no voter should bring mobile phone inside the polling booth. It is further notified that elaborate arrangements have been done for counting of votes on March 8 at JNRM (For Port Blair Municipal Council) and at Government Girls Senior Secondary School (For Port Blair Gram Panchayats).

Port Blair, March 1: In connection with the ensuing Panchayat & Municipal Elections-2022, the Office of the Director, Panchayat and Municipal Elections (DPME) today organised a training for the Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers and Master Trainers on the counting procedures in the auditorium of TGCE. Shri. Som Naidu, DANICS Officer (Retd.) as the resource person imparted training on the counting procedures of Postal Vote, Ballot Vote and EVM.
