Port Blair, July 6: In continuation to the A & N Administration’s Press Note published in the Daily Telegram on 27.06.2024, shortlisted candidates were informed to attend Trade/Skill Tests for recruitment to the post of Lascar and Oiler in Environment and Forests Department on 09.07.2024 at Swimming Pool, Near Netaji Stadium, Port Blair but due to administrative reason, it has been postponed. Now, the Trade/Skill Test will be conducted on 30.07.2024 at the same venue and time.

All other terms and condition mentioned in the Press Note published on 27.06.2024 shall remain unchanged.

Port Blair, July 6: Passengers/general public have been informed that due to administrative reasons, the departure time of the vessel MV Bharat Seema for Car Nicobar via Little Andaman on July 8, 2024 at 0700 hrs from Port Blair has been revised. Now, the vessel will sail for Car Nicobar via Little Andaman on July 8, 2024 at 0900 hrs instead of 0700 hrs from Haddo Wharf.

Port Blair, July 6: All the candidates who have been selected for admission in Training for General Purpose Rating course in July 2024 batch, have been informed that the commencement of the course has been deferred as of now, since the Institute details has not been updated in the DG Shipping website which is a pre-requisite for starting the course. The course shall commence once the process is completed and approval is received from DG Shipping.

Polytechnic, Diglipur (GPD) will be uploaded in the Common College Admission Portal website on 09/07/2024. The claim and objections have been invited from 09/07/2024 till 2 pm to 11/07/2024 till 2pm. CITU, Andaman & Nicobar State Committee deeply mourn the sudden demise of Shri K. Thanjiappan, former Secretary of the Forest Operational Employees Union (CITU), Diglipur on 5th July, 2025 at the Primary Health Centre, Kalighat, North Andaman.  He was 55 years.  He had participated in a number of movements of Forest workers and was an important trade union leader of North Andaman. 

CITU pays rich homage to his memory and conveys its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
