Port Blair, Dec. 22: The ASEAN–India Free Area emerged from a mutual interest of both parties to expand their economic ties in the Asia-Pacific region. Andaman & Nicobar Islands endeavours, close proximity with these South East Asian countries and have a greater scope of trade with these countries compared to mainland India. Under the ‘ACT EAST’ policy of Govt. of India, the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Aceh Chamber of Commerce & Industry with the active support of A & N Administration and Indian Embassy at Indonesia a WEBINAR was held today at 10.00 AM. 

Port Blair, Dec. 22: The Central Government made AADHAAR mandatory to avail the benefits of all the welfare schemes implemented by the Government of India. For enrolment of all the left out beneficiaries, this UT Administration will conduct a special drive at all Government as well as private school and Anganwadi Centers to provide an alternative platform for the convenience of the people. The Department of Education and Social Welfare will conduct this special drive in close coordination with the Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs for achieving 100% saturation in AADHAAR to ensure that no person of this UT shall be deprived of from any of the benefits. The date time and venue of AADHAAR Camps shall be widely published for information in due course of time.

Port Blair, Dec. 21: In compliance of the directions of Hon’ble National Green Tribunal maintenance of ambient noise standards is a mandatory requirement under the law. The A & N Pollution Control Committee has come out with the notification in July 2019 in which the ambient air quality standard in respect of noise in different zones have been notified and also made available to the general public through print and electronic media.
