Port Blair, Oct. 8: The Coast Guard Fraternity at Andaman and Nicobar Islands including ships and Establishment observed Hindi Pakhwada from 14 Sep to 28 Sep 2021.  On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, “Official Language” pledge was administered at 1100 hrs on 14 Sep 21 by Deputy Inspector General Narendra Singh, TM, Chief of Staff.  On this occasion, Chief of Staff appealed to the officers and staff of Coast Guard, including units based at Campbell Bay, Diglipur, Hutbay and Mayabunder to do maximum work in Hindi and earnestly try to achieve the target set by Govt. of India towards implementation of Official Language.

It is brought to the notice of the general consumers and government departments that power supply will remain suspended at the following area on 09.10.2021 from 0800 hrs. to 1300 hrs., in connection with urgent maintenance of Transmission & Distribution system near Mini Stadium, DBRAIT complex, ITI complex and FCI at Dollygunj.

Port Blair, Oct. 8: A total of 4,54,486 doses of vaccines have been administered so far in A&N Islands out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 1,70,966 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date among which a total of 1582 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands.

Port Blair, Oct. 8: A Special Gram Sabha Meeting held on 02nd October 2021 at Tushnabad Community Hall on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi.  Smt. Kakoli Ghosh, Panchayat Secretary, Tushnabad Gram Panchayat has  presented the works and activities to be carried out like Swachh Panchayat and Swachh Bharat, Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Celebrations etc. She has explained the role of Gram Sabha in preparing Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).  She has also administered oath to the attendees of Gram Sabha on Swachhda.

Port Blair, Oct. 8: ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (CIARI), South Andaman conducted training programme on “Balanced diet for rural women and Children” for 3 days from 4th   to 6th Oct.2021 at Wandoor. The training programme was inaugurated by Dr. Y. Ramakrishna, Pr. Scientist & Head, KVK, Port Blair.
