Port Blair, Oct. 4: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, ‘WITH YOU’ (NGO) organised a Cleanliness Drive at Bambooflat area. On the occasion, Ms V K . Mariyam Bibi, President of the organisation stressed upon the importance of swatchata in our lives. The NGO urged the people to keep the village/city and their surroundings neat and clean. The youths, PRI members, auto drivers, ladies participated in the program.

Port Blair, Oct. 4: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the State Unit of Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Park and paid tributes to the Great Freedom Fighter who forced the Britishers out of the country through non-violence.

The hall mark of his personality was severity and transparency, he always believed that cleanliness is next to godliness and I urge my fellow Islanders to make intensive efforts to understand the dream of a 'Swachh' and 'Samarth' Bharat.
