Port Blair, May 21: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) today observed the Martyrdom Anniversary of Former Prime Minister of India Late Rajiv Gandhi at the Congress Office, Port Blair.

The observance commenced with ANTCC President, Shri Rangalal Halder garlanding the portrait of Rajiv Gandhi, which was followed by floral tributes from the Chairman Campaign Committee Shri. TSG Bhasker, Congress Seva Dal, Mahila Congress Coordinator's and Leaders, Youth Congress, Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad Members, PBMC Councillor and party members present at the solemn occasion.

I am happy to know that the Department of Environment & Forests, Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be observing the "International Day for Biological Diversity" on 22nd May, 2024 in these Islands along with rest of the country, and world on the theme "Be part of the Plan".

Port Blair, May 21: Heavy rain (7-11 cm) is likely at one or two places over A&N Islands and thunderstorm with lightning is also likely over one or two places over A&N Islands on May 22, 23, 24 & 25. Squally weather with gusty surface wind exceeding 45 kmph is very likely to be along and off A&N coast. Sea conditions are very likely to be rough to very rough. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till May 25.

Port Blair, May 21: Vessel M.V. Swaraj Dweep is expected to arrive at Port Blair on May 22 at 1800 hrs from Chennai. She has on board 413 passengers and 221.5 MT of cargo. On arrival, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.
