Arrives at Car Nicobar, Inspects Infrastructure, Interacts with Officials and Community Leaders

Car Nicobar, Feb 6: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS on first leg of his five days visit to Southern Group of Islands arrived at Car Nicobar this morning. On arrival at Car Nicobar Helipad, the Chief Secretary was accorded a warm welcome by the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobars, Shri Yash Chaudhary, IAS, SP District Nicobars, Shri Manjeet, IPS, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Car Nicobar, Shri Vikram Singh, Chief Captain, Tribal Council, Car Nicobar, Shri Lynold Nicomed, Village Captains, Senior Officers of line Departments and others.

Port Blair, Feb 6: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has written to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to bring his attention the demands of PBMC employees. The demands include the sanction of 1/30th to Daily Rated Mazdoors, a sanitary section office in all 24 wards of PBMC, regularization of casual employees, mandatory health check-ups, providing rightful bonus, creating new posts in proportion to new wards added, timely supply of brooms, tools, and protective gear, and providing pay slips to all employees.

Port Blair, Feb 6: Joining the nationwide protest, the Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee held a massive protest on Monday 6th of February 2023 in front of LIC Main Office, Mohanpura demanding a probe in the Hindenburg Research report and against the forceful investments by LIC, SBI and other nationalized banks into Adani group.

Hundreds of Congress workers led by ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder and Campaign Committee Chairman ANTCC Shri. G Bhasker gathered in front of Life Insurance Corporation office and raised slogans against the BJP  government and Adani group of Companies. The entire programme was hosted and Co-ordinated by the NSUI State President Mr. M.A Sajid.

Port Blair, Feb 6: Ms. VD Leju, a Social Worker from Hope Town recently called upon the Chief Secretary, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS regarding threat to humans from the increasing stray dog population in South Andaman. She also raised the issue of the missing fishermen from Wandoor and requested the Chief Secretary to direct the concerned authorities to look into the matter.
