Port Blair, June 26: Coast Guard Component of the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) conducted an Inaugural Ab-Initio Maritime Training Programme for newly recruited Police Marine Force (PMF) personnel of Andaman and Nicobar.  The seven-week extensive training which was carried out from 01 May to 19 Jun 2024, aimed to enhance operational capabilities and maritime proficiency of the police recruits, concluded with an impressive valedictory function.

Port Blair, June 26: The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) organized an Elocution Competition on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at School of Nursing, Port Blair. More than 40 participants participated in the competition. The theme for the competition was ‘Drug Abuse and its Prevention’.

The programme was organized under the leadership of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, A&N AIDS Control Society with the support of Dr. Shiny Varghese, Principal Nursing School, Port Blair.

Car Nicobar, June 26: Continuing with the efforts to achieve the objective of Drugs Free Islands, the Nicobar District Police observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, 2024, with a series of events conducted to raise awareness and inspire community action against drug-abuse and illicit trafficking.

All Police personnel under Nicobar District took an e-pledge, reaffirming their commitment to fighting drug abuse. PS Car Nicobar police staff performed Nukad Natak at Kuchat Park, Car Nicobar depicting the harmful effects of drug use on personal lives and society. At PS Campbell Bay, a drawing competition targeting children and youths was held with the theme of drug abuse. Enthusiastic participants were awarded prizes for their creative entries.  

Mayabunder, June 26: On 26.06.2024, in a concerted effort to combat drug abuse and raise public awareness, the North & Middle Andaman District Police organized a series of events to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The initiative aimed to educate the community, especially the youth, about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of leading a drug-free life.

Port Blair, June 26: The District Administration, South Andaman has been continuously providing its unwavering support to the general public during the time of emergency and crisis management during inclement weather conditions in the District.

Shri. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman alongwith Shri. Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman and Revenue officials of Ferrargunj Tehsil visited Humphrygunj village and the areas inundated with rain water.
