Port Blair, Sept. 2: Two COVID positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands. These two cases were detected during the screening of incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday. Today, 9 flights with 1419 passengers arrived, out of which, 1272 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 101 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

Port Blair, Sept. 1: The direct recruitments proposed to be conducted by various Departments of Andaman and Nicobar Administration could not be conducted in the recent past due to Covid-19 pandemic. In the meantime, many aspiring candidates have become over aged and they could not apply for direct recruitments notified and to be notified in near future. Hence, there have been requests from various quarters to relax the upper age limit for direct recruitments notified and to be notified in near future by the various Departments.

Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands for having accorded two years age relaxation for all the Group-C posts of various departments under A&N Administration for filling up of the vacant posts by direct recruitment.

Port Blair, Sept. 1: The CITU, Andaman & Nicobar State Committee observed 1st September 2022 as International Day of Trade Union Action for Peace. The call for observing the day was given by the World Federation of Trade Unions which was endorsed by the CITU Centre, Delhi.
