All contesting candidates and parties asked to refrain from violating guidelines of MCC during election campaigning

Port Blair, April 8: The Office of the Returning Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency have received complaints regarding violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines by ways of distribution of free ration kits and cash by certain parties to woo the electors in their favour in the forthcoming General Elections. Acting on the complaints, the Returning Officer, ANIPC has taken strict action and Show Cause Notices have been issued to the defaulters. The defaulters have been put on notice and further action as per laws will be taken.

Micro Observers urged to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity

Port Blair, April 8: As part of the General Elections-2024, training for Micro Observers (MOs) appointed for the Election in ANIPC was held in the conference hall of DBRAIT here today. The General Observer, ANIPC, Shri B.N Singh IAS, graced the occasion.

Addressing the trainees (MOs), the General Observer, ANIPC stated that Micro Observers have a very crucial role to play in the conduct of an independent, free and fair election. He urged them to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and responsibility for a transparent General Election-2024 in A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency.

Port Blair, April 8: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep which sailed from Chennai is expected to arrive at Port Blair on 10.04.2024 at 0600 hrs. She has on board, 358 passengers & 1 Infant, 17 containers and 226 MT cargo. On arrival at Port Blair, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.

Port Blair, April 8: The passengers/general public have been informed that due to administrative reasons, the existing daily service from Port Blair to Rangat via Swaraj Dweep & Long Island and vice-versa has been revised. Now, the services will be available on every Monday, Tuesday & Friday with effect from 10.04.2024.
