Port Blair, Dec. 16: On 15/12/2020, acting on a secret information that one person namely Pradeep Singh R/o Ferrargunj is in possession of “CHARAS” a contraband substance and he will reach near Dairy Farm in his vehicle, Inspector Mahesh Kumar Yadav, SHO PS CCS conveyed the same to the Senior Officers and on the direction of Shri. Jagdev Singh Yadav, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) formed a raiding team comprising of himself, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Sanjay Kujur, Constable P. K Mondal, Rajendran, Raja Rao and Home Guard Seema Kujur of PS CCS. The team then went to Dairy Farm for carrying out the raid. The raiding team intercepting Pradeep Singh, who was in a Maruti Omni and recovered around 416 grams of Charas from his possession. The recovered Charas was seized on the spot and accused Pradeep Singh S/o Late Hari Singh R/o Ferrargunj was arrested under NDPS Act in the presence of DySP, Shri. Jagdev Singh Yadav. Later one co-accused named Dayal Chandra Das S/o Late Nepal Chandra Das R/o Ferrargunj was also arrested who is working in PBMC as a DRM. The raid was headed by Sh. Jagdev Singh Yadav, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) under the close supervision of Shri. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP(CID) & SA.

Port Blair, Dec. 15: The inclement weather conditions prevailing over Andaman Islands today hampered the flights landing at Port Blair’s Veer Savarkar International Airport. In one such incident reported today, Go Air’s Port Blair bound flight had to return from half way back to Chennai. The flight had carried several islanders including old age and sick people on board apart from tourists visiting the islands.
