
Sri Vijaya Puram, June 25: International Day Against Drug and Illicit Trafficking was observed today at Seminar Gallery, TGCE by Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts under District Administration, South Andaman and NAPDDR under Directorate of Social Welfare. Smti. Priyanka Kumari, Additional District Magistrate (ADM), South Andaman was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest urged to avail the service provided by IRCA, SA and stay away from substance abuse.
Dr. M.K. Mahato, Medical Officer (In-Charge) IRCA, SA welcomed the gathering and emphasized on the importance of the day. Shri. AK Biswas Nodal Officer, NAPDDR urged the youth to stay away from ill effect of substance abuse. Shri Deependra Kumar Singh, (SDPO), South Andaman spoke on inculcating traditional family values among the children and advised them to say no to peer pressure.
Police Entertainment Team (PET) performed a Skit Play during the programme. Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee members were also felicitated. Winners of various competitions were awarded trophies and medals.
