Legal Awareness Session Organised for the Staffs and Students of ANCOL

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 20: A Legal Awareness Session was successfully organized for the staff and students of ANCOL by the District Legal Services Authority, A&N Islands in association with Prayas JAC Society.

The session was graced by Shri Samrat Roy, Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Port Blair-cum-Secretary, DLSA, A&N Islands, along with Shri Jayanta Mukherjee, Ld. Judicial Magistrate First Class-II, Port Blair, and Shri Anupam Sircar, Ld. Judicial Magistrate, Additional Court, Port Blair.

The dignitaries delivered insightful lectures on the evolution of laws, procedures for lodging FIRs, and explained the distinctions between FIR, NCR, and General Diary (GD). The session also covered important topics such as domestic violence and cyber laws, thereby enhancing the legal awareness of the participants.

 “Awareness of law is the first step towards justice and empowerment.” Such initiatives play a vital role in shaping responsible and informed students by enabling them to understand their rights, duties, and the legal remedies available in contemporary society.
