Lt. Governor Accords Approval to Simplify High Volume Services of Revenue Department

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 5:  The general public of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been informed that the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has accorded approval to simplify the following High-Volume Services of Revenue Department, A&N Administration on the line of ease of doing:

1- No     Dues     Certificate     and     Non-Encumbrance Certificate: The revenue receipt is issued by the Revenue Department every year and the same has to be verified at the time of Registration by Sub-Registrar i.e. SDM to check the revenue dues, if any. Hence, there is no need for the separate “No Due Certificate” and “Non-Encumbrance Certificate”. The same shall be discontinued with effect from 09.06.2025. In case of any dues from any bank, same has to be verified by the buyer through Record of Right (RoR) and local inquiry. However, a self-declaration may be given by the parties for this on the line of ease of doing.

2. Valuation Certificate: The practice of issue of Valuation Certificate shall be discontinued as this practice does not exist in States and UTs. Value of property to be calculated as per the notification of Circle Rate based on various factors. It shall come into effect from 09.06.2025.

3. Licensing under Petroleum Act, 1934 read with Petroleum Rules, 2002 and other relevant provisions: ANIIDCO to open new petrol pumps as per the demand wherever required after taking necessary approvals.

4. Survey of vessels by the Revenue Department: There is no requirement of renewal of boat licence as per new IV Act and rules and the requirement of Survey is fulfilled by Chief Surveyor/ Surveyor of Inland Vessels, annual survey by Revenue Department is discontinued with immediate effect.
