PS Aberdeen Arrests Two Persons with Methamphetamine and Psychotropic Tablets in Separate Operations

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 2: Continuing its relentless efforts towards a drug-free society, Police Station Aberdeen achieved significant success in two separate anti-narcotics operations conducted on 31/05/2026, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and seizure of Methamphetamine, Psychotropic Tablets and other incriminating articles.

Acting on credible information received on 31/05/2026, a raiding team of PS Aberdeen led by Insp. Vijay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen along with SIs Dinesh Kr. Jaiswal, Abhishek G.S.P., HC(SG) Mohd. Rafique, PCs K. Jagadish Babu, Roney R. Koshi, Sandeep Kerketta, R. Deepak, R. Rahul Kumar, Diviya and PC(D) Anup Majhi conducted two separate raids under the guidance of Shri Deependra Kumar Singh, DANIPS, SDPO, South Andaman.

In the first operation conducted at Mazar Pahad area, the raiding team apprehended one person namely C. Sathya Priyan (26 years) R/o Junglighat from a Honda City car bearing Registration No. AN01-M-2828. During the search conducted in the presence of independent witnesses and after observing all legal formalities, the police recovered and seized 2.16 grams of Methamphetamine and 47 Nitrazepam tablets (NITZASCEN-10) from his possession.

The raiding team also seized several incriminating articles allegedly used for the consumption & distribution of narcotic substances and the vehicle used for transporting the contraband.

In second operation conducted near the parking area of the Fishery Survey of India building complex, Phoenix Bay, Sri Vijaya Puram, the police apprehended one person namely Samrat Biswas (38 years) R/o Junglighat, while he was allegedly attempting to sell narcotic substances. The raiding team conducted his personal search in the presence of a Gazetted Officer and independent witnesses and recovered 2.86 grams of Methamphetamine concealed in the pocket of his track pants. The recovered contraband was seized on the spot after observing all codal formalities.

Both accused were arrested and separate cases have been registered at PS Aberdeen under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

The operations were carried out under the command of Insp. Vijay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen with the guidance of Shri Deependra Kumar Singh, DANIPS, SDPO, South Andaman and under the overall supervision of Smti. Shweta K Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

The Andaman & Nicobar Police reiterates its commitment to combating drug trafficking and appeals to the general public to share information related to narcotics, any crime and other illegal activities with police at 112, 03192-232100, 03192-236641 and 03192-232400. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
