Tourism Department Invites Islanders and Tourists to 2nd Edition of Monsoon Food & Culture Festival 2026

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 15: The Department of Tourism, Andaman & Nicobar Administration has invited all Islanders and tourists to the 2nd Edition of the Monsoon Food & Culture Festival–2026 (#MonsoonMagic2026), to be held from 17th to 19th July, 2026 at the ITF Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram, from 4 PM onwards. The three-day festival is being organized as part of the Tourism Calendar of Events 2026–27 to celebrate the unique charm of the monsoon season and showcase the Islands’ rich culinary traditions, cultural diversity, handicrafts, and locally produced goods, while providing a vibrant platform for local entrepreneurs, artisans, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Government Departments, and tourism stakeholders.

One of the major highlights of this year’s festival will be the participation of the Karen Community from Mayabunder, who will enthrall visitors with their vibrant Traditional Bamboo Dance and Traditional Welcome Dance besides the most popular traditional cuisines of Nicobar group of Islands. The festival will also witness enthusiastic participation from various State Cultural Associations of the Islands, renowned hotels and restaurants including TSG, Chai Sutta Bar, Icy Spicy, Kabab & Roll Restaurant, Chocolate House, Shifa Catering, and Muggle’s Point (Bathu Basti), as well as local SHGs and the Defence Wives Welfare Association (DWWA). Government Departments including Agriculture, Tribal Welfare, Industries, Fisheries, Social Welfare, Science & Technology, Rural Development (RD), Police Department, and SVPMC will also participate by showcasing their initiatives and services, adding to the overall attraction of the festival.

Adding further vibrancy to the celebrations, an exciting line-up of cultural programmes featuring performances by local musicians, dance academies, community organizations, cultural associations, and live bands has been arranged on all three evenings, promising an enjoyable and memorable experience for Islanders and tourists alike.

The Department of Tourism extends a cordial invitation to residents and visitors alike to experience the flavours, traditions, music and cultural heritage of the Islands at this vibrant festival.
