Sri Vijaya Puram, June 29: As part of the observance of the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives, Shanmuga Women’s Cooperative Society Ltd., Junglighat, in collaboration with the Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, organized a tree plantation drive under the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ today in the premises of Government Senior Secondary School, School Line.
The event was graced by the Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, School Line, Inspectors of Cooperative Societies (Urban), and members of the Managing Committee of the Society.
During the drive, saplings were planted as a tribute to motherhood and to promote environmental consciousness, sustainability, and cooperative values. The initiative highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in building a greener and healthier future for generations to come.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks extended by the representative of the Society, who expressed sincere appreciation to the Principal, Cooperative Department officials, and members of the Society for their wholehearted support and active participation in making the event a meaningful and successful one.
