Valedictory Function of Anti-Drug Awareness Week Held at State Library

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 30: The valedictory function of the Anti-Drug Week program was held today at State Library, Middle Point, Sri Vijaya Puram. The weeklong programme was organized by the Science Wing of the Directorate of Education from 23rd June to 28th June, 2025, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The valedictory function was graced by the chief guest, Director (Edn.), Shri Vikram Singh, who emphasized the importance of collective efforts in preventing drug abuse and addiction. The Deputy Director Education (Sc.), Shri Ram Pravesh welcomed the gathering. The chief guest & guest of honor, Shri Naresh Chander Lal, Padma Shri Awardee also distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions held during the week.

During the program, 120 students along with Drug Mitra, Resource Persons & Teachers participated in various activities, including awareness rallies, poster making, reel & memes making, rapping, video game, story telling, logo making. A motivational movie was shown on the title ‘War on Drugs’ by Shri Naresh Chander Lal, Padma Shri Awardee. The participants gained valuable insights into the risks associated with drug abuse and the importance of seeking help and support.

The program concluded with a pledge to work towards creating a society that is free from the scourge of drug abuse and addiction. The organizers expressed their gratitude to the participants, volunteers, and supporters who made the program a success. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Shri Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Science Consultant, DDE (Sc.).
