Sri Vijaya Puram, April 23: Election to the Office of the Chairperson, Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council for the fifth-year term of tenure (2022-2027) was held today in the Conference Hall of Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council. The election was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Ms. Purva Garg, IAS. After the conduct of proceedings, Smti. Vasantha, Councilor Ward No.12 was declared as Chairperson, SVPMC for a period of one year for the fifth-year term under the provisions of sub section (1) of section 197 of the Andaman and Nicobar (Municipal) Regulation, 1994 read with sub section (1) of section 14 of the said Regulation.
The Oath of Office of the elected Chairperson for the fifth-year term of the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council will be administered by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman on 24/04/2026 at 5 PM in the Conference Hall of the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council.
