Ahmedabad, April 7: Woman Candidate Master (WCM) R Kashthuri Bhai shines at 35th National Under 17 Chess Championship 2026 concluded this evening in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Competing against over 100 players from across India, including elite players, WCM Kashthuri Bhai delivered an impressive performance, scoring 7.5 points out of 11 rounds to secure a commendable 9th position in the championship.
Her performance not only earned her a cash prize of ₹14,000 and a trophy, but also enabled her to surpass the coveted 2000 FIDE rating mark, a significant milestone in her chess journey.
The Andaman and Nicobar Chess Association congratulates her for bringing laurels to the Islands and wishes her continued success in future tournaments.
