AH&VS Distributes Pashu Pushti Kits and Hybrid Napier Stem Cuttings to Livestock Farmers

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 31: The Department of AH&VS distributed Pashu Pushti kits and Hybrid Napier stem cuttings to livestock farmers at their doorstep today in New Bimblitan village and Kamraj Nagar. These nutritional support kits distributed through the Senior Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Hospital Garacharma & team is aimed at improving the overall health, immunity and productivity of the animals.

During the distribution, the team briefed the beneficiaries about the proper usage of the kits and advised them on scientific animal husbandry practices, including balanced feeding, provision of adequate clean water and regular health monitoring for better results. A total of five Pashu Pushti kits consisting of chelated mineral mixture, mineral block, protein extract, Hercal-P and probiotic Hepacin were provided to farmers whose animals had undergone Embryo Transfer Technology (ETT).

In addition, with the objective of promoting fodder cultivation among livestock owners, 3000 Hybrid Napier stem cuttings were distributed to 10 livestock farmers at their doorstep in New Bimblitan. The fodder cuttings were supplied by the Senior Veterinary Officer, Government Fodder Farm, Livestock Farm Complex, Dollygunj. Hybrid Napier is a high-yielding perennial fodder variety that can significantly improve the availability of green fodder at the farm level and reduce dependence on external feed sources.

These doorstep interventions are part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to support farmers through nutritional supplementation, improved fodder resources and technical guidance. The Department of AH&VS remains committed to enhancing livestock productivity and promoting sustainable dairy development across the Islands.
