Addressing the Trade Union Convention, Smt Deepa K. Rajen, CITU All India Secretary said that communal right wing forces are gaining strength in the country.  She said that in many sectors and States, even minimum wages are not being paid to the workers, and it is the CITU which is the only organization fighting against the exploitation of workers.  She said that while all other state governments in the country are keeping silent or supporting the exploitation of workers, the workers in all sectors are getting minimum wages and other facilities in Kerala as the former LDF government supported the workers’ rights. She said that electricity sector is being privatized in the country which will pave for the sharp increase in the electricity tariff, causing further burden on the people, especially the poor.
