Port Blair, Sept. 11: In a letter addressed to the Chief engineer, APWD, Port Blair, the Member of Parliament, Shri has requested for urgent repair of the road stretch from School Line to Dairy Farm Junction. In the letter the MP underlined the deplorable condition of the road following recent replacement of old pipelines with new ones by digging the median stretch of the road and leaving it with just a temporary makeover of the damaged road. This stretch of road has deteriorated significantly becoming a serious hazard for road commuters.  This is leading to acute hardships to general public, two wheeler drivers, aged and patients. The safety and wellbeing is at stake for all those who use the stretch of road.

Pot Blair, Sept. 11: Red Run, a State Level Marathon of 5 kms for the college students and general public was organized by Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) as directed by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), MoHFW, GoI today from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Stadium to Mazaar Pahad and back. The marathon was organized to create awareness on HIV & AIDS.

Port Blair, Sept 11: The Rotary Club of Port Blair, in collaboration with Prince Group, organized a program to donate a projector to RGT Public Vidyalaya, Port Blair. The event was graced by Mr. Indrajeet Khurana, owner of Prince Group, and Mr. Sagar Khurana, Managing Director of Prince Group and President of the Rotary Club, Port Blair.

Port Blair, Sept. 11: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Shri. Rangalal Halder strongly opposes the recent hike in electricity tariffs for domestic, industrial and commercial consumers, introduced by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) for the Financial Year 2024-2025 at Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Halder expressed serious concerns regarding the new tariff rates of Electricity, stating that while regulatory bodies must ensure the financial stability of electricity utilities, the current tariff increase places an undue burden on the Domestic, Industrial and Commercial Consumers.
