Port Blair, Oct. 8: On the occasion of launch of “Jan Aandolan Campaign” on COVID-19 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, a pledge on Public Health Response to COVID-19 Campaign for COVID-Appropriate Behaviour was administered by the Director General of Police, A & N Islands to the senior officers and Police personnel at Police headquarters today 1120hrs. The pledge emphasized on the basic precautions related to COVID appropriate behavior during unlock especially on three key points- wearing mask properly, hand hygiene and maintaining social distancing.

Dependra Patak, IPS today inaugurated an elevator, wheel chair ramp, hand rail, tactile paving for vision impaired and disabled friendly washroom at Police Headquarters, Atlanta Point. The inauguration done in the presence of senior officers and other Police personnel.

Port Blair, Oct. 7: The Parliamentarian’s Group for Children (PGC) (UNICEF India) has announced Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands as the winner of PGC Awards 2020. The award is an attempt by the PGC to recognise Kuldeep Rai Sharma’s exceptional work to protect the rights of children in the parliament.

Port Blair, Oct. 8: The first-ever Toppr Andaman Online Quiz 2020 was held on 27th September. Over 600 students from across the Islands have participated in this quiz.

On 4th October 2020, Toppr conducted the first ever online prize distribution ceremony broadcasted live on City TV in the presence of Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Senior Vice-President of Toppr, Mr. Aveg Agarwal, Assistant Manager - Sales, Mr. Alstan Rebello and Mr. Farid Abdul Rahman, whose efforts have brought Toppr to Andaman.

The illegal sale of liquor is prohibited and is a serious offence which attracts, in addition to sealing of premises, imprisonment upto six months along with fine as per provisions.
