Port Blair, Jan 10: A large number of dead turtles have been found washed away in the shores of North Andaman. It was today afternoon that the locals found atleast found dozens of dead turtles on Kalipur Beach and Lamiya Bay beach. The matter was immediately informed to the Forest Department, which in turn sought the assistance of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science.

Indian Oil’s Indane LPG customers can use single missed call from their register number 845495555 for refill booking-for all India and for registering new connections similarly the same service is now available in A & N Islands.

Port Blair, 10: Indian Coast Guard organized Special Swachhta Abhiyan on 09 Jan at Corbyn’s Cove Beach to commemorate 44th Coast Guard raising day. The event was organised to spread awareness on cleanliness and creation of a clean and plastic free healthy habitat in our surrounding area under the aegis of Honb’le Prime Minister’s initiative ‘‘Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan’’ and ‘‘Swachhta hi Seva’’.

Port Blair, Jan 8: The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, the largest and only one recognised service Association of Govt. employees in these Islands has demanded immediate halting of the ongoing process to privatise the power sector in the Islands. In a letter dated 24th December,2020 addressed to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the General Secretary of the Association Shri T S Sreekumar said the proposed privatization of Electricity Department of the islands is not viable or not in public interest considering the peculiar conditions of the islands.
