Port Blair, April 3: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) today signed a grant agreement with the Government of India, to provide aid of up to 4,016,000,000 Japanese Yen (INR 250 crores approx.) for the Project for the Improvement of Power Supply in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, April 3: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to operate Chartered flights in Port Blair - Kolkata and Port Blair - Chennai routes twice a week from 15, April to July end 2022 so that the islanders can get plane tickets at an affordable rate.

Port Blair, April 3: Working professionally, the team of PS Pahargaon solved an attempt to murder case of a young girl in Garacharma and arrested the absconding person within 24 Hrs.
On 30th March 2022, an 18 year old girl was brutally assaulted with a machete inside her house at Garacharma Murdakhari Road by the offender Srikant Sardar. On receipt of information, an FIR vide No. 57/22 dated 30/03/2022 U/s 450/307 IPC was registered at PS Pahargaon. The offender absconded from the spot and went underground.

Port Blair, April 3: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Rural Livelihood Mission (ANIRLM) attached to Directorate of RD, PRI’s and ULB’s, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Port Blair organized a two- days ‘SHG Mela’ at Marina Park. The ‘SHG Mela’ started on April 2 and concluded on Sunday 3rd April, 2022. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain graced the occasion and encouraged the participant members of DAY-NRLM Self Help Groups (SHGs).
