Port Blair, Nov. 2: A total of 4,96,196 doses of vaccines have been administered so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81,603 (pprox..). A total of 1,73,507 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. A total of 915 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands.

Port Blair, Nov. 1: It has been four months in a row and the Merchant Navy Officers manning the Passenger Vessels of the Directorate of Shipping Services remain confused as to who is the authority to which they are supposed to report and seek their hard earned salary. Four months in a row and the officers remain without pay owing to the confusion between the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and the Shipping Corporation of India.

 

Port Blair, Nov. 1: In order to bring out the brightness of Diwali among Specially Abled children, the District Administration in collaboration with Port Blair Guru ki Rasoi celebrated Diwali with the children of Divyang Home and also Old Aged Citizens of Abhyudaya, Ferrargunj.

The program began with lighting of diyas with the children.  Television and Health Kits sponsored by the civil society organisation were gifted to the children of Divyang Home.

Port Blair, Nov. 1: The Member of Parliament, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration to make arrangements for verification of double dose certificate of COVID-19 vaccine near DSS ticketing counter for the convenience of passengers of Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep.

Port Blair, Nov. 1: The Secretary, Rural Development, Shri Suneel Anchipaka IAS, ADM/SDM South Andaman and the Asst. Commissioner (U/T) visited Mannarghat in order to inspect ongoing works in the Gram Panchayat. The officials from revenue and other line department accompanied the team during the visit.
