Sri Vijaya Puram, May 17: On the occasion of International Museum Day 2026, the Zonal Anthropological Museum wing of the Anthropological Survey of India, Sri Vijaya Puram, will remain open to the general public on May 18 for a special celebration. This year’s global theme, ‘Museums Uniting a Divided World,’ highlights the vital role of museums in fostering dialogue, understanding, inclusivity, and cultural harmony among diverse communities.
As part of the celebration, special Guided Tours will be conducted from 11.30 AM onwards, during which museum officials and experts will introduce visitors to various exhibits and provide valuable insights into the tribal cultures and anthropological significance of the islands.
The Anthropological Survey of India (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) has invited all citizens, students, researchers, tourists, and culture enthusiasts to participate in the celebration and make the event a grand success through their gracious presence.
