Sri Vijaya Puram, June 8: The 39th edition of the India–Thailand Coordinated Patrol (INDO-THAI CORPAT) commenced at Sri Vijaya Puram on 06 June 2025. Conducted biannually since 2005, the exercise aims to strengthen maritime cooperation, mutual understanding, and interoperability between the two navies.
This edition features participation of Indian Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel INS Saryu, Landing Craft Utility L54, and HTMS Krabi from the Royal Thai Navy, along with Maritime Patrol Aircraft from both sides. A Royal Thai Navy delegation led by Vice Admiral Suwat Donsakul, Commander, Third Naval Area Command, is in Sri Vijaya Puram for the exercise, which will include joint drills in the Andaman Sea and conclude at Phuket, Thailand.
Activities include coordinated patrols along the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), gun firing, communication drills, and maritime interdiction exercises. Cross-deck visits and exchange of best practices are also planned.
The CORPAT reflects the growing strategic partnership between India and Thailand and highlights the shared commitment to peace, stability, and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
