TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Achieves Significant Outreach and Impact Across the Isles

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 22: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has been actively implementing the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – 100 Days Intensified Campaign since its launch on 24th March 2026, in alignment with national guidelines.

The campaign has achieved significant outreach and impact across the islands. The overall progress from 24 March, 2026 – 19 June, 2026, under the Ayushman Arogya Shivirs initiative. A total of 728 health camps were conducted, including 198 in urban areas, 530 in rural areas, 7 in congregate settings and 9 in other areas. The Shivirs witnessed a total footfall of 32,352 people, comprising 14,770 males and 17,582 females. As part of the TB screening and elimination efforts, 8,459 Ni-kshay enrolments (new registrations and new episodes) were recorded, while 9,674 chest X-rays and 2,234 NAAT tests were conducted. The initiative also led to the notification of 101 TB cases for timely treatment and follow-up.

As part of Janbhagidari and Community Engagement Activities, a total of 154 activities were organized to encourage public participation and awareness. The initiative involved 182 elected representatives, including 19 members from Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and 162 representatives from Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs). A total of 126 activities were conducted in schools and colleges, along with 21 activities in Line Ministries and 2 activities involving PSUs, corporates and business associations. The campaign also received support from 5 My Bharat Volunteers in strengthening community outreach.

The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has urged all citizens to actively participate in the fight against TB. The Administration reiterates its commitment to achieving a TB-free Andaman & Nicobar Islands through sustained efforts, community participation, and strengthened healthcare delivery systems.
